Everything is going fine, but suddenly it starts to shift. Suddenly you feel it bubbling up from the pit of your stomach. Your heart starts to beat, your stomach starts to rumble, and you feel like you cannot breathe. You start to feel like your grip on reality is starting to fall apart, and it takes everything that you can muster to keep yourself from screaming or even simply running. Suddenly the sensation of fear and anxiety is gone. Almost instantly you are back to normal, but something is different. Now you are left with a sense of fear that you are going to have another episode come on at any point.
The truth is that you have had a panic attack. The good news is that you are not alone.
